Many publishers hesitate when they see the “Connect PayPal” button. That’s completely understandable. This page explains exactly what happens during the connection, what does not happen, and why connecting PayPal is safe and useful for you as a publisher on Posticy.
What does connecting PayPal actually mean?
When you connect PayPal to Posticy, you are simply allowing Posticy to automate invoicing and payment confirmation for your orders.
Posticy can:
- Create invoices on your behalf
- Send those invoices to advertisers
- Check invoice status (for example, paid or unpaid) to update your order status in Posticy
Posticy does not:
- Access your PayPal balance
- Withdraw money
- Send payments from your account
- View your full PayPal transaction history
- Store your PayPal password
The connection uses PayPal’s official secure authorization system (OAuth). You log in directly on PayPal, not on Posticy.
Why is PayPal connection required?
Posticy is built for direct cooperation between advertisers and publishers, without holding publisher funds inside the marketplace.
Instead of collecting money centrally and paying you out later, Posticy lets the advertiser pay directly to your PayPal account. This means:
- You receive money directly in your PayPal account
- The invoice is issued from your own PayPal account
- You stay in control of your billing and payments
- There are no payout delays from Posticy
How the PayPal connection works (step by step)
Step 1: Click “Connect PayPal”
You’ll be redirected to PayPal’s secure website. Your login happens on PayPal, not on Posticy.
Step 2: Approve the permissions
PayPal will show a permissions screen explaining what Posticy is allowed to do. The purpose is to enable invoicing automation and invoice status checks.
Posticy cannot use this connection to move money or access sensitive financial information.
Step 3: Orders are invoiced automatically
When an advertiser places an order on Posticy:
- Posticy creates an invoice inside your PayPal account
- The advertiser receives the invoice
- The advertiser pays the invoice directly to you
- PayPal confirms the payment status
- Posticy marks the order as paid and the workflow continues
You don’t need to create invoices manually, copy payment links, or follow up on payments.
Where does the money go?
The money goes directly to your PayPal account.
Posticy does not hold your funds, does not route payments through a Posticy wallet, and does not require payout requests.
Is this secure?
Yes. The connection is handled by PayPal’s secure authorization flow. Posticy never sees your PayPal password, and you can revoke access at any time from your PayPal account settings.
Why this model benefits publishers
This setup is designed to protect publishers and keep you independent.
- Your PayPal remains your invoicing tool
- Your PayPal remains your payment receiver
- You stay in control of your finances
- Posticy simply automates the workflow between you and the advertiser
Still unsure?
That’s totally okay. You can review the PayPal permission screen carefully before approving. If you want, you can also test the system with a small order first. And if you have questions, our support team is happy to help.
