If you already have a Stripe account, you may wonder why you need to complete a new profile via Posticy. Here’s why:
Stripe Standard vs. Stripe Connected Accounts
- A Standard Stripe Account (created independently) is managed by you and is not linked to any platform.
- A Stripe Connected Account (set up via Posticy) is linked to Posticy’s payment system, allowing automatic payouts, platform fees, and compliance with regulations.
💡 Important
Posticy can only process payments through Connected Accounts, not independent Standard Stripe accounts.
Platform Integration & Payment Automation
- Posticy handles transactions between Marketers and Publishers.
- Stripe Connect ensures that payments, refunds, and platform fees are managed securely and automatically.
- Your existing Standard Stripe account does not provide the necessary permissions for Posticy to automate payments.
Regulatory Compliance
- Posticy follows financial regulations that require all Publishers to verify their identity and payment details through Stripe Connect.
- Even if you already have a Stripe account, you must go through the Posticy verification process to meet these compliance requirements.
How to Complete Your Stripe Profile
- Go to Posticy Dashboard → My Account → Complete Stripe Profile.
- Follow the on-screen steps to enter your business and payment details.
- Submit your verification documents if required.
- Once completed, your account will be ready to receive payments!

Future Possibility of Connecting Existing Accounts?
At this time, Stripe does not allow merging a Standard Account with a Connected Account. However, if Stripe introduces this feature in the future, we will provide guidance on how to transition.
Until then, the only way to receive payments via Posticy is by completing the Stripe profile within our platform.
